Dead man may hold key to murders

MELBOURNE, July 13 AAP - An elderly man who died five years ago in a US hospital may have been a fugitive from Victoria who murdered his pregnant wife and three children 40 years ago, police believe.

Elmer Crawford has been on the run since the discovery of the bodies of his wife Theresa and their children Kathryn, 13, James, 8, and Karen, 6, in the family car in the Loch Ard Gorge near Port Campbell, in the state's southwest, in July 1970.

A 1971 inquest found Crawford had bashed and electrocuted his family in their home in Glenroy, in Melbourne's north, on July 1, 1970, then pushed his car with the four bodies inside of the cliff at the gorge, where it was later found by police.

Kokoda plane crash: wreck found, fears for nine Aussies on board

RESCUERS are battling foul weather and rough terrain to reach the crash site of a plane carrying nine Australians near the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea, after wreckage was spotted this morning.

The plane went missing yesterday with 13 people on board - seven Victorians, two Queenslanders, one Japanese and three PNG citizens, authorities say.  An aerial search resumed this morning and found the charter plane's wreckage but saw "no signs of activity".

There was no immediate confirmation of the fate of those on board, but Foreign Minister Stephen Smith has said there are "very grave concerns" for all passengers and crew. 

He told Parliament a Sea King helicopter was waiting on tarmac in Port Moresby for clearance to fly to the wreckage.  He said there are four PNG police and an Australian doctor on board.

Another Australian plane with embassy staff and more search and rescue experts were heading to Kokoda village from the capital.  From there it would be a three-hour trek to the wreckage. 

Another local search party was already looking for the plane, but there are concerns poor conditions will hamper all efforts to reach the scene.

"We have opened the prospect of three separate parties trying to reach the crash site at high altitude in very difficult circumstances," Mr Smith said.  "I'm advised that the weather is closing in and is deteriorating and is very likely to hamper these efforts both by air and on foot."

Giant naked goddess to be carved into hillside

Dubbed the "Goddess of the North", Northumberlandia will be made from two million tonnes of earth dug out from an open cast mine in Cramlington, and tower 112ft into the northern sky.

The Goddess, designed by artist Charles Jencks, will recline over the Shotton open-cast mine and form the centre piece of a new public park at the site.

MICHAEL JACKSON faked his own death to escape the pressures of fame, according to crazed fans who believe their hero is still alive.

Thousands have been logging onto websites to join wacky conspiracy theories that the star is simply preparing for the ultimate comeback.

One site has published a photo it claims is of Jacko on Sunday - three days after his death - although you can't see his face and there's no proof the snap is new.

Another webpage reckons he has been planning this for nearly a year-and-a-half and is now in hiding in Eastern Europe.

A third believes Jacko was spotted crossing the border into Mexico hours after news of his death broke on Thursday.

Again there is no hard evidence to support the claims.

The leading conspiracy theory website is www.michaeljacksonsightings.com

The site has published a grainy photo it says is Jacko, above, and claims the man who died on Thursday was a Jacko double with a terminal illness whose family will be looked after in return.

A message reads: "Over the past few days there have been many Michael sightings. People have e-mailed with pictures and amazing stories.

"Michael is alive and well and happier than ever. The plot was 10 years in the making but it had to be done.

"We know he is alive because we have seen pictures. Clear pictures taken June 26, 2009 of Michael Jackson lounging poolside with friends.

"This site is dedicated to bringing the truth to his fans and ultimately to provide a forum for Michael to communicate with them.

"We feel he was forced to fake his death the same way companies are forced into bankruptcy.

"Those close to Michael have known about the plot for years, it was a very expensive and intricate venture.

"The man who died had a terminal illness and his death was long overdue. He was given facial surgery to resemble Michael exactly. No doubt his family will be taken care of.

Deborah Rowe said Michael Jackson children aren't his

 MICHAEL Jackson's eldest children face an uncertain, bizarre future after their mother and his former wife Deborah Rowe confessed he is not their father.

Rowe's confession in the first public interview she has conducted since Jackson's death at the age of 50 last Friday was astonishingly candid.

The mother of Prince, 12, and Paris, 11, said Jackson - whom she married in Sydney in 1996 - said she was artificially inseminated by an anonymous donor.

And she told how, despite Jackson's death, she does not want custody of the children and never expected to see them again.

It means Prince and Paris now face a doubtful future, effectively without parents and the subject of a fight to find them a permanent and stable family home.

Rowe, who met Jackson when she was a receptionist at a Beverly Hills dermatology clinic where he regularly went for skin treatments, said that when she married Jackson, he was lonely but wanted children and she offered to have his babies.

Rowe - who claims Jackson wanted little to do with her after she had her second child - said she was "impregnated" like one of the thoroughbred mares she now keeps on her property, adding: "I was just the vessel. It wasn't Michael's sperm.

"I got paid for it, and I've moved on. I know I will never see my children again."

Jeff Goldblum Death Reports Are False: Hoax Explained

The multiple reports stating that Jeff Goldblum died today in a tragic fall while filming a movie in New Zealand are 100% false.

Having been online for longer than we’d like to admit, we caught this story as a fake immediately — because it’s originally from at least 2006.

While the story has remained the same throughout the years, the actors names have varied.  Last time, it was Tom Cruise.  This time, it’s Jeff Goldblum.  In six months, it’ll be Zac Efron.

MICHAEL Jackson has died aged 50

MICHAEL Jackson has died, aged 50, after reportedly suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Los Angeles.

The reclusive music star was found not breathing when paramedics were called earlier today to his rented mansion in the LA suburb of Bel Air.

Jackson had been rehearsing for a series of comeback concerts, starting with 50 shows in London, that he had hoped would rehabilitate his image after child molestation charges, and help rescue him from serious financial difficulty.

The African-American singer, often called the King of Pop, had the biggest selling record in US history with Thriller in 1982. The album, which included the song Billy Jean, was also a hit worldwide. 

Jackson was born on August, 29, 1958, in Indiana. He found childhood fame as part of the singing group The Jacksons.

His first solo album was in 1972.
